The Shangri-La portion of Far Cry 4 was revealed at the Sony Gamescom 2014 press conference with footage of my map as well as being demo'd to press. It was featured prominently in marketing materials leading up to launch.
In all the screenshots below is the primary Shangri-La map I lead through an ~8 month production with my Level Designer Ben Aerssen and my artist Yukiko Otsu with additional support from Billy Matjiunis (Level Artist) and Darren Horrocks (Modeler) for the cave portion of the map. I was reponsible for layout, world building, set dressing, debug, polish, modeling/texturing of major architecture and miscellaneous assets. Being one of the last artists on the project, I ended up closing my map as well as two others for Goldmaster (half our Shangri-La maps).
